Cant connect to the internet help

this is gonna be a long story so brace your self

i have a bsnl data one 256kbps ul connection

i have a ut300r2u modem

there is no problem with line and the ip has been assigned

in order to port forwar my ports to get better speeds in torrent downloads
i downloaded a config file from the internet which had all the premade settings for port forwarding my mode so i went to my modem config page and loaded the config file

after restarting the computer i couldnt connect to the internet my internet light in the modem didnt lit up anymore

so i called up the bsnl help pline at 1500 and restored the modem to its original configuration now i can get the internet light and when i try to acces the internet it says page not found or fire fox cannot find server

i went to the modem configuration page in the device status diaognostics everything was passed execept for the " ping default gate way=FAIL"

iam typing this from a browsing center

please help

Problem solved

the bsnl tech guy was quite use ful

it seemed that my default gate way was jacked up so i assigned automatically assign from the tcp ip options and all is well now
