Can't fit a lens on the D80...

I recently acquired a Tamron 90mm 2.8 SP macro with adaptall2 nikon mount lens
Normally one sets it lenses to minimum f (f32 in this lens) and attaches it to modern digital cameras
This lens doesn't attach when set to f32, it attaches fine in any of the lower apertures
1.Aperture is stuck in f2.8 all the time
2.Neither can I get the flash to fire

Any fixes that do not have me buying another adapter?

Does the lens have an aperture pin ? It should be located on the Adaptall mount.

If yes then you will have to jam the pin down with some paper and it should stop down manually.

My lens looks like this - Problem with Tamron Lens and D70s - Photo.net Nikon Forum ... no aperture pin i can see..

Found this talking about something similar...is it asking me to remove the adaptall adapter and stuff something in it?

^^ Yes, there is no aperture pin on the lens. You will have to use a small folded piece of paper into the adaptall mount at the place which controls the aperture. Just mount the lens and fiddle with the aperture and see what moves.

Hmm, next time you are passing by Khoparkhairne on your bike, get your cam along and give me a buzz ! :)

When you are saying you cant get the aperture to change you mean when the lens is attached to the adaptall mount right ?
