Cash influx changes the equation..need opinions

My dad has agreed to give me Rs5000
so now my budget is Rs10,500
i saw this Sony Ericcson S500i and i have fallen in love with it
actually lust cause after a coupla days it will just be a phone

i want to know whether this is a good phone

i think the price Rs10,600 as on indiagsm.com is justified but is it really good

I looked at this before buying my phone. Looks awesome but I didn't buy it because I read a lot of reports of the keys cracking/breaking and the slider mechanism being a bit wonky. They did say the later batches were ok, but I didn't want to take the risk.

its seems like a delicate piece ...one to b kept in a showcase...sony phones like these r generally too brittle...
