hello te,
for some issues im yet to get my driving license.
now my question is what are the consequenses i may face if m caught without a licence riding my bike?in general and in extreme scenario?
one of my friend warned me that my bike may be seized,others say i might get away with a fine.
plz share ur experiences.
I have all the other necessary documents.
btw i live in kolkata but about 20kms from city in hooghly dist..

If you get caught without a DL, u'll mostly get away with a fine.

If you commit any other traffic offences (like hit and run for example!!) and also don't have a license, u'll land up in bigger trouble for making a multitude of offences.

I think if you have the appropriate documents for the bike then there is no need to seize the bike by the police.

For driving without a valid license you will be slapped a fine.
 
Why is TE turning into a RTO??.First drink and drive and now this way to go folks.What next how to pull a stunt in main road with out cops catching :mad: :mad:

If you dont have a DL dont F*&^in drive.

yes i have the appropriate documents.
how much will be the fine amount?can they even harass me?
my bike is in running in period so riding slowly and within limits so no hit n run :p
 
Cops can harass you over any bogus charge .. not having a DL will just give them an easy easy way to earn some quick cash.
 
@metalspree : u r taking it wrongly dude,i didnt ever ride my bike in main roads and never wish to without proper documents or helmet..
I bought a new bike n my collge frnz wanted to see it..so i wanted to take my bike to the college thats all..
if i can get away with minimum of infringement i am willing to take that risk.

Saayan if you do not have a license then do not drive the vehicle , it is as simple as that irrespective of the bike condition,papers etc. What you are asking for is a workaround for doing an illegal activity, Kudos to the Lawyer for even supporting such an activity rather than denying it in the first instance.
 
Trying to do something illegal by knowing how grave can consequences is one fscked up startegy.

Why ask what will happen if you do something illegal?

Seriously, people grow up please.
 
why is it not possible for you to get a license?

AFAIK, even a learner's license is enough for you to legally ride a bike. It won't take that much time to get one, unless you have some other reason for being rejected.
 
look for the past 2months me and 3members of my family suffered chicken pox..just after the bike was bought..last friday i went to a driving school and they said the process is stopped and i may have to wait 1or2mnths to even get a learner..

i didnt want to knw if theres any workaround or not.
just wanted to know the consequences.
i dont want to get entangled into a quarrel.
