CCNA Course Details...

Hey,

I have just finished my 12th, and I have ~2 month holidays...

I had done A+ in 6th, and N+ in 10th Holidays...

So I went to NIIT for Details...

The Fees there are 30k for 2 months (3 Days a week) inc. Certification Exam Fees...

Then I went to ACIT : CCNA Training, India - Mumbai, Cisco Courses,CCNA exams, CCIE Bootcamps, CCNP, CCIP, CISCO PIX, CCSA, CCSE, SCSA, SCNA

There they have a 1 month Course (Monday to Friday 2hrs each day)
Or 1 week (Monday to Friday 6hrs each day)

Both costing 6k (Not including Certification Exam) Exam cost 12k...
I am considering the 1 week one since ACIT is a little far and it takes 1.5hrs to reach there...

Any Opinions???

[My Dad is saying there must be some twist in ACIT 1 week course...]

The certification is valid for two years, taking the exam now is pointless. I'm guessing you are planning for computer sciences? I'd suggest you to do the course after you have an understanding of the seven layer OSI model but if you feel brave, take the one month course atleast. NIIT is a rip off considering how simple the syllabus is.

CCNA certification is valid for 3 years i guess.

I have 3 months break after Diploma, and i have been learning CCNA things although i am not going to give exams right away, exams fees are too high, will do it after my Degree so that no worries of expiration of Certification.

I had taken a 1 week course (dont remember the name of the institute, this was 6 years ago) gave the exam next week got around 980 out of 1000. If you can handle it take the 1 week course.

I had posted an article on TE on how to pass CCNA, read it, it will help you.

I would really suggest you complete your graduation first. CCNA is a professional course and it should be done by professionals. If after your 2 months of vacations you're just gonna join a college, there's no point in doing this course, coz by the time you're done with college, the CCNA certification (if you get one) would be expired, the knowledge will be lost, the money for the course will be wasted, the networking world would have changed (IPv6) and the industry would have moved on.

If you're still interested, you can watch CCNA videos on youtube or read the CCNA certification guide book by Todd Lammle cover-to-cover.
