NORDIC HARDWARE reports that one if its readers, Crotale, has succeeded in overclocking a Celeron M 1.4GHz to 4.16GHz, a 197% overclock. Celeron M and I would suspect, Turion and Athlon XP M are prime candidates for out of this world overclocking. Not a review, but a feat worth reporting.

Slowly Intel is getting nearer to the magical 4GHz. The Intel Extreme Edition 955 clocks in at 3.46GHz. It has two cores, 4MB cache in all, is manufactured using 65nm and has a TDP similar to its predecessors. It overclocks well - Hexus got an additional 800MHz out of it - and performs above expectations when compared the Athlon X2 4800+. It has yet to be released though and we don't know what will be its price. You can expect to get plenty of Dual core action in the first few months of 2006

Sysopt checks one of Gigabyte's latest gadget. The GN-WBKG 802.11g is a USB Adapter with a twist, so to say. It actually features a rotating antenna which can be oriented like an aerial to get the best reception possible. While it heats quite a lot - good as a portable heater - it does also provide with a strong steady signal. It would have been a nice thing if other manufacturers introduced such a nice concept.

A nice stock filler, this is what comes to mind when reviewing the Akasa All in One which is one of the more stylish card reader cum dashboard available on the market. It keeps you aware of your fan speed, of the temperature of your casing, with included alarm, nothing exceptional, a nice add on though for those who want to add some twinkles to their casing.

HKEPC checks the K8T900 platform, VIA's new High End part, and for the first time it seems, get a dual card setup from S3 running called the Dual GFX Express Pro. The system supports SLI and Crossfire if ever you were wondering. It is a marginal improvement on the existing K8T890Pro in terms of performance though and you will be left wanting for more. Watch out though for the Multichrome setup which seems to be pretty much competitive with GDDR2 Geforce 6600.

Bjorn3D has connected three hard disk drives and two Geforce 7800GTX graphics cards to new Antec TrueControl II 550w PSU. It is SLI ready, has four SATA connectors and loads of protection circuitry as in any high quality PSUs. Bjorn did encounter some stability problems with FEAR, one of the most demanding game to date and at the end of the day did not particularly liked it. It may be quiet and offer plenty of drive connectors but it is still a long way from perfection.

* Thanks to reader Bill jackson and the rest for their enlightening views on the use of Copper and Aluminium in HSF. BJ was nice enough to demonstrate to me that any shape of copper was more than 7.3x more expensive than aluminium. Which is something we seldom think about
