Changing Product Code of 5800

Googling for latest Nokia 5800 Firmware, I got to know latest 5800 firmware 31.0.101 which isn't avaialble for India thru FOTA or Nokia Updater App.

However there are information available to change Product Code of your Nokia Phone thru NSS(Nemesis Service Suite). Whether it would be advisable to change product code and later after firmware update getting back to original Product Code. WHat are the risks involved(heard somewhere that phone will brick if changed into wrong product code).?

I doing this product code change for a long time ... no risk of bricking ur phone..done the same for my n86 which is onto euro1 product code.. nss is very safe ..just follow the instructions carefully..

will be much better to wait ! and update it once its here. besides that , there isnt any major upgrades that u would want to do it.

for me v30 is most stable and has been running fantastic.

But its disappointing to see that Nokia India is not very keen on providing with even minor updates to Indian public.

I had updated my 5880 to firmware 31.0.101 and now i am really disappointed with my phone performance. My phone becomes slow now and sometime gets hang while opening any application. I need to remove battery to start it again. Rotation becomes slow now and it takes time to detect motion. Battery dries up faster, Java apps is not opening now. I was happy with previous firmware which is 30.0.8.

However only good thing is i got 10 band equalizer

change to euro1 .. It can shut off camera shutter sound if warning tones are kept to off in current profile setting. and this code always get firmware updates in first round.
