My 6 year old mobile phone died out today morning. :P So I am forced to look out for a new mobile. I am looking at the cheap to very cheap mobiles. Can you suggest some names.Not more than 5k under any circumstances. Frankly I only need my mobile to make calls and receive calls. Nothing else. I know about the samsung guru 940 bucks in Flipkart :bleh: . However I was attracted by the Samsung Champ (just looks). However since I am not into buying mobiles every year or 6 months I prefer something sturdy. Also I guess as far as voice calls are concerned 2G and 3G do not make any difference.

Pour your thoughts and ideas please
 
nah dont go for champ...its resistive screen sucks....

instead get a nokia phone if you want a sturdy phone....

touchscreen in 5k is no good

hell lot to choose from nokia ubder 5k....

If you only want a cell for making calls, look at Nokia X1-01. It is a dual sim, dual standby phone, dirt cheap at around 1600/- and has very good speaker clarity. Also it can double up at a music player. Also comes with an impressive battery life of 1320mAh which will last for days.

If you want to move a little higher, Nokia X2 is a good looking phone for around 4k. Or at Nokia C2-03 with touchscreen and dual sim.
 
Samsung Star II S5263 [/SIZE] is a good choice for 5.3k. It got wifi, 3" capacitive touch, 3.2MP cam, 8 hr TT and looks sturdy too.

Or the C6712 Star II DUOS which is a dual SIM with 3.2" capacitive screen, wifi, 10hr TT, 3.2 MP cam etc for 5.7k and is just 100 gm.
 
Samsung champ 3303i is a good music and touch phone for 3K. And those who compares its touch screen with Samsung Galaxy SII should remember the price first. Again, if you can afford 5K I think the Samsung Champ 3.5G will also approx fit into your budget. This phone has been lunched just 2/3 days back.
 
@All....Thank you for your replies. I ended up spending more though like it always happens :P. Finally got the Samsung Galaxy Pop S 5570. After 6 years feels like I am in a new world :P.
Now have to experiment with it. Will post first experiences soon.
