Hi Friends,

Yesterday when I log to MTNL Mumbai site before Book Rs.150/- plan, on there site under WHAT'S NEW heading they keep moving one running message as follows

"Book Rs.150/- I/C plan .... Last date 31-3-06..... No CPE deposit No Installation Charges No Testing Charges with Rs.199/- Broadband Plan"

When I reach to MTNL office for Booking, there Internet Booking Related Officer told me "Just go and book plan if the scheme is avail you will not charge for same" despite my request he didn't log on the MTNL site.:@

When I complete booking process and obtain Broadband form Another Officer told me "If you just apply/book Today for new plan why you apply for Broadband today as we can not provide you Broadband before you get Land Line connection and if your form misplaced here you have to come latter and fill the form again for Net Connection":@

OK ! I return home and as today I log on to site no where I found above scheme even there related officer refuse and reply that I might read something else when I said I am 100% sure what read on you site, She reply that OK in that case you will liable to get the Scheme if you Purchase Total PC from MTNL.:@

My god !:S

I even can not image good service from MTNL How they ask me to Buy New PC to get Discounted Rates for Broadband Scheme TriB T10

When these fu..... peopel value customers ?

if you want good customer service, be prepared to pay for it (read Airtel and/or Tata Indicom to a lesser extent)

BSNL/MTNL provide even non-commercially viable services (Broadband/Mobile) at a lot of places (read C class towns/rural areas) and thus bad customer service is pretty much pardonable....

That's the way the rest of the world works, and you can;t have your cake and eat it too (pay less than cost, get more that what should expect)

sorry if that sounds harsh!

I know BSNL/MTNL customer service sux....but Thanks to them , we have one of the best cellular networks in the world, and a broadband network that reaches to really small towns (read non-commercially viable)

Airtel is Cheaper than MTNL.

But in my city I have to wait for 4-6 month for airtel.

Airtle provides 128 kbps unlimited plan for Rs699 and 256 kbps for Rs.999

While mtnl provide 256 kbps 1gb limit @Rs920

Have had several probs with MTNL before and had surrendered connection!!

Recently had severe probs with Tata Indicom, requested disconn and sent mails to them, Trai!!
They call, apologise and promise appropriate setlement!!

Got new MTNL connection for Triband!!
Service is blazing fast compared to their old days and for a recent Triband issue, they sent engineer same day though i have my own router+wiring+instrument, etc!!

MTNL has surely improved and its about time too!!
Though they will need more time to catch up with private players!!
Main hindrance- Bureaucracy/Babudom!!

mntl....jus a frnd told..even if u get decent speed..keep telling them i m getting low speed..and giv him some chai pani.....and he will change the settings(giv new ip address etc)........and u will get kaboom speed.......

frnd told he gets ard 60-80kBps earlier it was 20-30

how is the airtel broadband service in Mumbai??

coz these guys had come to my building (mumbai) to install the wiring, etc so that in case in the future if anyone from the building wants to subscribe.. they can give the connection quickly.

I told them to buzz off coz i found 256 kbps Unltd. @ 999/- very expensive

Plz let me know abt the D/L speeds on Airtel broadband. I am on Mtnl now and i get abt 26 kbps d/l speeds.

Thanx!

Dude 256K unlimited @ 999 is fair deal and as the buzz is spreading tht airtel service is really good i dont think 999 bux can be called expensive cause right now there are ISPs which give either fair speed @ cheap prices and no good service or sucky schemes with fairly good service, but not both.. so if u havent missed the bus yet call them again and let them place the wiring :)

In future if Airtel Launch in my City (Village - for service) I blindly Jump on it and Grab Unlimited Plan.

I just can work freely with any Cap.

I choose MTNL for good service in my area but it is Costly and with 1GB limit if compare to AirTel:tongue:
