Monitors Colored lines on a LCD

Some wierd colored lines (10-15 of 'em) have appeared on my LCD. my laptop is the Compaq Presario M2000. first of all are these dead pixels???
i talked with the service station guys they said it would go away but they seem to be increasing in number

i took a screenshot and transferred them onto my PC but they dont seem to appear in that so its definitely a hardware problem.

help!!!
