Laptops Compatible WWAN cards for Dell Latitude 5400

Hello TEam!
So I have a refurb Dell Latitude 5400 which has a microSIM slot and an empty WWAN port like this.

My questions to this learned gang are
1. Is it viable to pop in a regular 4G/5G SIM and surf the web like a boss?
2. Are there more modern WWAN cards that are backwards compatible with this model/slot?
3. Where can I get them ?

Thank you. Quick follow-up question - will where I try to get the card from have any issues in terms of network bands supported? Like if I got it from the US, it will work in India without problems?
