PC Peripherals Confused...

Please help ..

i want to buy stuff for $100
should i go for a gd sound card worth $100 ( x-fi xtremegamer )for the mx 5021s.
I have an i-ball 860mv hfones which sounds pathetic with my onboard audio..

OR

a 30$ souncard like the chaintech av 710 with 70$ headfones ?????
 
Are u looking for a multi-channel sound card or a stereo one?
If music through stereo speakers in your priority then check out the EMU 0404. They are usually available for more than what you have budgeted but I think Zhopudey is offering his for what your are asking(available in teh market sectionof TE....you might have to check tho whether they are still available). I have heard these and really liked them. However I opted for a Juli@ since I also needed a digital out for my AVR.

If you are getting from the US then you have many more choices.
If you are into gaming then an x-fi makes a lot of sense. However in INdia you won't find one at that price.
 
My apologies.
Its the M-audio revo 7.1 that he has on sale and not the EMU. I just checked and think its still available.
This model I haven't heard so really can't say much.
 
If you think you like your sound, please don't waste your money on a POS like Chaintech AV710

If you want immediate results, the most immediately viable results would come from a $100 investment on decent h-fones

If you think you can stagger your purchases, I'd receommend a X-fi (for 5.1) or a M-audio audiophile or transit for now (you wouldn't notice any results on ur iball h-fones though) and a good headset / speakers later when you've saved up...
