Recently few days back I got Corsair 2 x 2Gb 800 Mhz RAM twin pack module wit following details:-

Corsair CM2x2048-6400C5 – 1.80v ver1.2

5-5-5-18

800 Mhz

2048 Mb

XMS2=6400

System property display 3.21Gb RAM in place of 3.8Gb, though only 32Mb is shared for onboard graphics.

Despite of 800Mhz Memory tab of CPUz utility display as:-

General

Type: DDR2

Size: 4096Mbytes

Channels: Dual (inserted in slot 1 & 3)

Timings

DRAM Frequency : 400.8MHZ

FSB:DRAM : CPU/5

CAS#Latency (CL) : 5.0 clocks

RAS#to CAS#Delay (tRCD) : 5 clocks

RAS#Precharge (tRP) : 5 clocks

Cycle Time (tRAS) : 18 clocks

Bank Cycle Time (tRC) : 23 clocks

Command Rate (CR) : 2T

My previously installed RAM modules were

Transcend 2 x 1Gb DDR2 667 DIMM 5-5-5

At that time CPUz shown

DRAM Frequency : 333MHZ

What’s the problem?

I've Asus M2NPV-VM, nVidia 6150 motherboard.

DRAM Configuration in BIOS

all the settings are at AUTO

Memory Clock Frequency

TCL

TRCD

TRP

TRAS

TRC

TRWT

1T/2T Memory Timing. all are at auto

Is there anything wrong with RAM modules or with motherboard?

Please help.

If your memory is 800Mhz , CPU z will show it as 400, thats normal. Dont worry:)

Install XP or Vista 64 bit to use 4GB of RAM. A 32 bit OS cannot utilize 4 gb ram, so in system properties you'll get 3.21 GB Displayed.

Ensure you have all the 64 bit drivers if you plan to install a 64bit OS.
