I know this sounds ridicoulous, but loading techenclave on my nokia 5230 uses a lot of gprs.
A techenclave mobile app sounds sweet. :cool2:
Hope developers start working on this pretty soon. :)

It will still take a lot of GPRS as you put it to transfer data for the threads and the posts and the PM's and the images. The end result would not be very different for the users. Plus making a diff app for each type of phone? Nokia, Java, iPhone, WM etc...

Use a lightwt browser instead :)

Opera mini (Java) + 2.2" 240X320 Display + Vodafone EDGE = No complaints! ;)

I can (almost) say the same for an ipod touch 2g + wifi, but it would be nice to have a mobile version of the site - not a "mobile app" which sounds way too much work/cost and lockdown to platform.

I should try the text site link next time though...

Well, a mobile version of a website (web pages) is easy but for a discussion board (like TE), might not that be easy to implement.

It's good as it is and the most efficient (and economical) option would be to browse with images/animation disabled.

There is a mobile app specifically for vbulletin forums. Can test it out. However since we plan to upgrade the forum, it will not be implemented before feb. Doesnt make sense to do it.

Check out vBulletin plugins for mobile version. There is a way to implement mobile view in vbulletin with the use of a special designed-for-this-purpose theme and an associated plugin.

And by upgrade do you mean vBulletin 4 ?

Hey Admins, lemme know when u make this upgrade, after my exams I'll have a lot of free time and since I'll be completing my SCMAD soon, will love to make something for TE on mobile platform.
