I am thinking of upgrading my existing Athlon II X 4 62o with FX 6300 CPU
Motherboard ASUS Crosshair IV formula
2X 4GB DDR3 RAM 1600 Mhz
All other hardware remains the same
I will also have to update my BIOS to 3029 (Beta)
My question is will I have to reinstall my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit OS also to get the advantage of the upgrade or the system will automatically adjust to the new CPU ?
Also the official support list of ASUS shows only the 6100 & 8100 series FX CPUs are supported
The FX6300 is not on the list.
Will my motherboard accept it?
