Guys i wanted t oask about this Sound Card.

I will be connecting 5.1 Speakers to this ALansing VS3151 for 5.1 Sound
but with 5.1 sound i want the Line In port also but SBLive 24Bit has only 4 ports at back but dont know which ports are used for it.

Those who have this card will understand my query.

Will be requiring the LineIn for My TV Tuner Audio In to the Sound card.

Will i be able to use the 5.1 Card + Line simultaneously is my query.
OR else i will have to find Audigy 2 Value here in Mumbai which is more costly.
 
The green is front, black is rear, orange is sub/center. The blue socket is for line in/side surround. Since you don't have those speakers, you can easily use that for line in.
 
i mean does it have to connect to soundcard thru its line-in? doesnt it send audio data thru pci slot along with video data?
Which tv tuner card do u have/planning to buy?

Nope none of them do it other than the ATI rage theater 550 based ones.

I is no understanding why you is wanting to buying LIve!.

Buy an Audugy 2 ZS. I know it is more costly but it is worth it. And with the Live series, you cannot install the EAX console. If you do, you will have too many errors and stuff like that.

And the EAX console may not sound important(it is NOt from a technical point of view), but it is really good and worth it. You can create so many things using it.

I was not such a fan of the Creative suite till lastweek. Since then I have discovered sooooo many things. I have listened to a Live soundcard and my Audigy 2 ZS and I can say with authority that the difference is amazing.....

Buy the ZS.

But difference between Live and Audigy 2 is great....
 
I thought the ZS only offers firewire and gold plated connectors. The connectors will not really matter with the speakers we'll be using.
Of course, audigy will be much better than the live, in terms of cpu utilization.
 
OH Yeah....

I thought you were talking abt Audigy Value. The Audigy 2 Value is much much better. As you say the only difference is the FIREWIRE post and connectors. And all mobos come with a Firewire port anyway. So he doesn't need it on the sound card also....

EDIT: Just saw Eddy's post ---- What are you talking abt??? I was comparing the Live 24 bit and then I said that Audigy Value is not as good as 2 ZS. Now I realise that zhopudey was taLKING abt Audigy 2 Value. So, anyway, Audigy 2 Value is almost as good as 2 ZS. except as zhopudey has mentioned --- the firewire and connectors which are of no importance anyway

You are talking about the old live 5.1DE. The new live 24 bit has the EAX console. In fact its the same damn hardware as the A2ZS minus the EMU10K2 dsp. That means no EAX4 and no hardware acceleration(2fps drop in most games :P). Thats the only difference. It also doesnt have the resampling bug of the ZS.
 
But also, the sound quality is not as good as the Audigy 2 ZS. I told you, my cuz has a Live 24 bit and I listened to it and it doesn;t sound as good as the 2 ZS. I am not comparing any other card at THIs moment as I have perosnal experience with only 2 cards.

I would still suggest that he go for an Audigy 2 Value..... And it is 7.1 which I know you may not make use of(90% of people don't), but still...... if Quaddy wants to upgrade in the future, then he will have that option.....
 
I thought the live24 used the same DACs as the audigy2...or is it just for the front channels?
As for upgrading, it is possible to just add 2.1 (or 2.0) later on to get 7.1? Does the audigy2 have 4 stereo mini jacks for 8 channels? If not, then it might be a problem upgrading.

I was wrong.... SOrry...... Then I guess my cousin had a Live 16 bit and just put the sticker of 24 bit..... I am going to kill him the next time I see him!!!
