will someone answer your query if you were to say you posted the same question in say 3 more forums? the chances that your question will not find any answers will be more compared to if you did not post about it in the first place.
Why not. Why hide the fact, that you have also posted it on some other platform too. This post is not stating that cross posting is a crime. I just wanted a better method of doing so. Hope you got that.

the thought that the question will get an answer in any other forum will make me think twice before i answer it. why should i go to the trouble of answering your query if you will get the same answer elsewhere?
That is exactly why the cross post link should be mentioned too. Keep the process transparent and genuine. Should not other members also benefit from posts being created here. And the cross post can be browsed before posting, read my post
"Response Behavior with outcomes" Are we not cutting down repetition and redundancy. I feel it is extremely selfish on the OPs part if he is posting on multiple forums, and members like 'workers' are answering.

its another matter that you have registered on many forums and feel questions being asked are same everywhere. don't know why you're bothered by this though. its not like there's a hard and fast rule you can ask a question in only one forum and leave out the others.
I know there is no hard and fast rule to cross posting. An again reiterating, I am not saying it should be banned. Just the methodology.

By your reasoning, if i expand your post to a question being asked only once then, you should not ask any question at all regarding anything because someone somewhere has already asked it on some other forum, whether you know it or not. you could search the web for any of your query and find the answer i'm sure. why bother posting it here in first place.
Again, not stating it should be only a first ASK. See the seed post for this thread. Not advocating a ban, just a change. Also this is not about the existence of information and ability to find it. It is the way in which a query is put on a platform. Also I am sure, you too know, not all questions can be asked via search engine queries. We face specific customized questions day in-day out.
Caveat:
I think most people misunderstood this post. I was not suggesting/requesting a ban. Just that the method of cross posts should be more transparent, and open to TE. Am sure this seems really trivial and stupid. But I feel being honest and clear is a key for an integral community/forum.
