After rejecting Google's offer, now CyanogenMod teamed up with Micromax and planning to tap into Indian mobile market.

Does this excite anyone here?

This is the YUCK news of the day.....
If they had to shake hands with a cheap chinese OEM device seller then why only MMX ??? Team up with every tom dick and harry like spice/lava/karbonn/etc etc....

Anyways.... Might be the success of Oneplus in India have driven them to partner with some Indian handset seller who will help them penetrate the Indian market further...
On a side note.... In Recent past many small, big and giant players from the international market have shown their love for Indian market.... the same companies which once considered this mkt as some untouchable garbage...

Its good if CM based handset get updates for at least two years , and the hardware is good there is gap in the 10 to 15 k bracket if micromax could provide good build quality, battery backup for at least a day with heavy usage and a killer cam they can repeat the success of Canvas 2 which was a good seller .
CM + Nova Launcher + some customized dialer app and sms app (like Textra ) will beat many popular user interfaces

MMX bribed them more.

Now real shocker is that they're going to release Canvas 5 which runs on octa-core CPU and CM OS around near 20k o_O

Connecting the dots now. Its a win win affair.[DOUBLEPOST=1414101565][/DOUBLEPOST]
Not really, Micromax is not an option for me unless they improve quality of their products and ASS.
And that is the bottom line which these 'software' collaborations fail to address.

The only 'official' CM build i've seen for a midrange is for the moto go. Everything else is flagship. Will CM release for anything less than MMX flagships. if not then this news is worth nothing as MMX flagships don't count for much yet.

It looks like Micromax trying to acquire market like OneplusOne in India with some fancy features like 8-core CPU, 18 MP cam and all and after experienced user who reported on blogpost and forums that MMX is terrible in build quality and it has really bad "A.S.S", which can be huge turn off to many users, but near future you never know ;)

My Micromax a110 conked off 3 times in 2 years , the third time it conked off I just let it go , also ass is terrible , big lines and chaos at the service centers . Build quality is below par too .
