Someone on Reddit was describing how they finally decided to make a change. I don’t remember their exact words, but it was something like this:

I realized that I was in a hole. This is real life, not a movie. Nothing will magically happen, and my life won't just turn around. No one will give me a chance, and I won’t suddenly land an awesome job. No girl will look at me and fall in love while on a stroll. This is real. I've been waiting for something to happen that will change everything all of a sudden. Some life-changing event where I’ll suddenly become a responsible person and become the version of myself I dream of when I go to bed. Sure, some people had their lives turned upside down, like in movies or from that TED Talk. But… it wasn’t going to happen for me.

I'm here… in a dark tank filling with water, waiting for a hand to pull me out. But I realized that no hand is coming. I am alone, drowning. Only I can get myself out. It’s on me to save myself. Rather than hoping some external force will save me, I have to save myself. There’s no choice. Either I do something to get out, or I die. There is no third option. So, that’s what I did. I stopped hoping for things to turn around and did what I could to the best of my ability. I gave up on hope and did what I could. Every step of the way, knowing it’s on me. Nothing else. No miracle, no luck. It’s just me. This keeps me motivated

No quote but my Apple Watch is a great motivator for me. I go for morning brisk walk + jogs 5 days a week in the garden near my home.
I started with 4 kms daily and only walk and then little jogs and such now I can do 6 kms daily walk + jog (out of this 4 kms is continously jogging) and in intend to gradually increase this.
Looking at apple watch while doing this and it shows say 5.73 kms and I am trying to give up but that 0.27 remaining is what my watch pushes me to do.
Also, at every km completion, it says "split pace split 1, 9.15 minutes per km" which means it took me 9.15 minutes to do that 1 km so I am motivated to make sure next km is done in shorter time.

Smartwatch are great motivator tool and worthy investment. Even I get excited when Garmin shows Altitude gain when I am slowly gaining height in mountains...I know the Mountain height so when I gasping for air and see only few hundred feets remaining . I get that important final push to keep going.
I had gifted my didi Garmin Vivo active 3 ....It was her first smartwatch. She had many expensive normal watches too but shifted to smartwatch after that.

At work when she use to take a break and take a rest. The watch would keep motivating her to take a walk .
Now all those expensive analog watches are mostly used only during party wears .

anyways enough with smartwatch talk . Dont walk to derail thread.

Just leave a message for people....keep going no matter what. Many will try to pull you back in your life....Some will push you forward too but in the end you are on mostly on own . So dont give up ever.

“You are the lens of the world: the lens through which the world may become aware of itself. The world, on the other hand, is the only lens in which you can see yourself. It is both lenses together that make vision.”
