Data Trasnfer monitor for BSNL

Nikhil

Explorer
My friend has the 400MB limited connection of BSNL.

I want to know a good data trasnfer monitor to keep track of the data transfer each month.

I searched a bit on TE, but did not find what I was looking for....

Any suggestions guys??

Thanks

Nikhil it wont work that way u need a packet monitoring software to see how much data is sent and reieved by tht u'll know precisely use IRIS for windows and Ethereal in Linux.

Hey x86,

I dont want to cheat or anything :P I just want my friend to know how much more she can download before the limit is reached.

I just want a software to monitor the MB downloaded..... that is all....

400 mb ah will go away within some days of surfing only no need of downloading lmao as i've told you its not cheating its a packet analysis software to see how much data is sen and recieved besides u can do a lot of stuffs too.. :)
if i was you i would have underclocked her bandwidth to 5 kbps becuz 256 kbps i guess shes having and 400 mb is just like a capital punishment .. blieve me ..
the second option is you can fool the ISP, via docis, into thinking it's all from a ftp server.... and uncap your bandwidth by disabling QoS

hey buddy how can u fool the ISP as u have mentioned here....
can u give more info on it that will be cool

I use the ShaPlus Dataone bandwidth-usage tool.

Dataone website provides only total monthly bandwidth consumed and does not provide free and chargeable bandwidth separately. The session logs can run into multiple pages and it is difficult to add all the session logs to find the total chargable monthly bandwidth usage.

This tool will calculate the Total chargeable monthly Bandwidth consumed.

http://www.shaplus.com/dataone/

It is freeware. The latest version (2.2) is 62KB.

although the shaplus tool is free and i used it earlier and completely safe since its closed source many may not be comfortable to type in their passwords.

hi, can u plz tell me how to do that? is it possible this way to get more bandwitdh out of a 400mb limit.. i want to help my friend out with this one..

besides any tactics for the BSNL sancharnet line (dial up).. only thing that helps me is to set the clock back by one hour evermorning and i get an additional 1 hour of free internet time..

altho i can easily download over a 100mb everynight,... id like to know if i can download for a lot longer without having to lose my subscription.. or some kind of key generator for the renewal codes..

thanks in advance..

dude, she uses a DSl connection. Docsis has mainly been used for cable modems, and most of the new ones are immune to most of the hacks for it. And switching of QoS on your local comp will not help (if you could switch it off on a cable modem, that might help)

Strangest definition of safe I have ever heard. The general consensus among experts is that security by obscurity is not really security - just a false sense of it.
thanks for pointing that out. I ate few words there :)
Well i was typing that at 1am so what else can u expect :bleh:
its shd be : not completely safe as closed source :)

king i kno thats why i didnt replied what they asked me and i also know posting it here was somwhow out of atheics .. but private networks are always easy and good to exploit rather than govt .. even if pvt netork uses the tuffest firewall with mac level auth

I use Shaplus tool.
It is very usefull. And I dont think that anyone would find my pass of much use anyway.Since it is ADSL I dont think that he would be able to use my account from his place.
