Deccan Chronicle is using CoinHive script (Crypto mining)

Had opened DC website via Google News. Saw an alert from Kasperky that they have blocked a malicious script (coinhive.js or something of the sort)

Opened developer tools and found the CoinHive script name. Much better that intrusive ads in my opinion. But unless there is a max limit of CPU usage, battery may run out very fast on mobiles or laptops running on battery.

Can be either of 2:
Either a bad browser extension (chrome specially)
OR
DC guys are on risk from G penalty..
No chance of browser extension as Kaspersky keeps blocking CoinHive script only when I visit DeccanChronicle website.

Also a friend found AsianAge to have the same JS script

Are you getting that notification in all browsers ?
As Kaspersky supports many of them, I will suggest to try atleast 3-4 different browsers, make sure to reboot everytime you try.

Also wonder if its DNS poisoning on coinhives end, like happened last year.

I didn't find any coinhive in there. Maybe some bad advertiser is abusing the ad system.

Edit: It is there when we go to other pages from main page.
