defective DVD with Digit April issue

Before any of you fellas head out to buy the April issue of Digit enticed by the Splinter Cell Chaos Throry demo on the DVD.....Here is a warning....
Apprently there has been some replication issue with the DVDs this time....All but one of the folders on the DVD seem to have corrupted files (ANd the only right folder is office tools )

I'd advise all u folks to stay clear of the issue this month
Also, Would any one of you know if Digit has a replacement policy for faulty CDs/DVDs ...and if Yes, what do i need to et this done
 
well...i just got my issue too....and i am facing the same problem.
There is a notice on the page in the mag where they preview the contents of the DVD and CD. But, it seems that it doesnt work too.

Yes, there is a way by which you can get the CDs/DVDs replaced. Get in touch with their help desk via email or via Phone and they shall guide you.
 
Hmm.... Who told u so? Do u visit digit forums?

It dont autorun, that's it.

Raaabo (site admin, digit; DVD man of digit) accepted the goof up at the last night Yahoo conference.
Also they replace ur DVD without asking any questions, mail them at help@jasubhai.com
 
well...i do read the mag, it also said that donot autorun....but it didnt autorun anyways, and following the procedure in the mag, we are supposed to run the .hta file. Which didnt work either.

Apart from that, if u access the DVD in windows explorer, none of the files are accessible. I even tried copying the files to the hdd.

Also, the DVD contains one txt file titled DELETE ME.
DO a search for it, find it, open it, its empty:p

So, i think this time, the digit ppl have messed up real bad.
 
Well, in that case, almost certainly next month's issue will have TWO DVDs. They will give everyone a replacement, so that means next month I am buying it.
 
Not that I have purchased digit for the past 8 months, but it certainly shows that its better to be newstand buyers than subscribers ...

Oh yep, many people are complaining about it at digit forums, so they will do something about it ;)

That is not true. Have you actually tried to replace your cd? When I tried to replace it on a previous issue they told me to courier the bad cd to them to get a replacement. :mad: So much for their 'no questions' policy... I am a subscriber from many years by the way.

Atleast 3-4 times in the last 18 months. 2 DVD's were replaced as well...

They never asked to give the CD back as welll.

Ask anyone at digit forums, they will tell u more (atleast majority of them).
 
I haven't got my copy yet....
now i'm worried..:S

They asked me to send the faulty CD/DVD back so tat they can replace it.

What are u saying man, U think Im lying or something, I can show you the emails from digit if you want.... Also I know MANY people who have been told the exact same thing, like for example quickfire in the previous post.

2 years back or so they did not have this policy as I had got one cd replaced back then, but its not like that anymore, I even argued with digit about it but to no avail.
 
Ujjwal-Not that I have bought DIGIT or the last 8 months
Neither have I....The sad part is I bought It just for the 608 MB game Demo ehich would have taken 3 nights on my 64kbps connection to download ...
Ine retrospect, since I have an unlimited conection, might as well have done that :-(
 
this is utter BS

digit doesnt give a damn about it, else there would have been a update already

this tells u following

1) no one got a working dvd (yet)
2) which means, none of the digit employees purchases digit, or even so much as tries the dvd.
 
Lol you ppl yet read Digit POS...
Chip is better but their hardware prices are always 10-20 % below the market price wonder why...

hmm...its sad but true...
got my copy today and no prizes for guessing..
the whole DVD was corrupt...

mailed digit helpdesk..lets see their response..:p
 
Well the digit cd last month was cracked and the newsstand guy replaced it the next day so I dont care if digit does it or not.
BTW I think most of the popular magazines have the policy of replacing the faulty cds.
