what i eed to know is
1. doi go in for 7300 processor costing 4000 bucks more... i mean is it worth the price
2. i have read a lot being written the truelife screen..... which is better.... the simple one or with truelife....
3. can i get a better config fromhp..... i've heard a lot of ppl say they are better for gaming
4. this iscosting me 57,000 (on the website)... how much willl be the final cost... can i get a bargain

well.. heres a bit of help:

1. i dont think its worth to pay the additional 4k 7300.. i mean its just 2mb extra cache.. not worth tat much money.. 7250 i good enough..

2. iv got a dell laptop wit trulife and personally find the screen to be far superior to my previous compaq, friends acers and a toshiba tecra.. though it does increase the glare i believe but the screens gr8 ..

3. i doubt ud be able to get a better config from hp.. cause i dont think they have a laptop wit ta 8600 m gt.. so if u wanna game the gfx should be right up there before processor in terms of importance..

4. well expect anything between 3-4k discount.. i wont be easy but its totally possible.

Also an advice get a 3 year waranty extension/complete cover is a lil expensiv but wonderful (an if not complete cover i hear they offer 3 yrs hardware warnty extn for like 4k..)

hope tat answers ur queries.. :)

thanx dear..... just one more thing....
a 1 yr completeover option is not mentionedon the dell websit configuration page...all they have entioned is a 2 yr dealwith complete over and helpdesk included....

i think for 1 year its automatically complete cover.. but not sure.. so u better double check this wit a dell rep..

complete cover is expensiv but it gives u complete peace of mind.. it basically depends on wat kind of person is going to use the laptop? like if it is someone very careless then id suggest cc despite the extra charge.. if its someone who takes care of their stuff then it might not be necessary..

although wat i suggest is u opt for 2 yrs complete cover..an then bargain wit ta dell sales rep tat instead he gets u 3 yrs .. if it happens (iv not tried it or heard about any1 who has) ul get complete cover for 6k which would be awesome!

what is the basic difference b/w a on-site warranty and complete cover.....
can i get a 1 yr comlete cover alone... its notmentioned in their customization page.....i think i will get a 2 yr extension later....also can you please clarify the 8600 coming with ddr2 instead of ddr3...cozon their site and in reviews i read ddr3 but i read in a review in this forum that it is not ddr3 but ddr2. how much difference doesit make???

complete cover means just that - COMPLETE .. spill coffee (or your favorite soda) on it, drop it by mistake - fry it by accident - they come and fix it :) - so if you gonna be using it harshly - go for it.

refer other threads man...same things,,

Yeah personally i think u can go to abt 52k- 50k,
Depends on the kinda per u get hold off...

u can get ur money's worth by bargaining hard getting to 52k or something, then go for 3 yrs complete cover bargaining widout a single rs increase,,,
U might even get a bag or a pendrive or something...

And try MORE than 1 rep, different quotations with same config,,,It'l get u much better results..also for wat u can expect,,ie price etc, contact raghunandan,u'l find his posts in hot deals section.,,,

aslo remember that if u hav any prob shipping late or jus abt anything, ask for compensation...Ul get loads of warranty and freebies...

thanx guys.... will let u know as soon as my lappie arrives..... its har playin the waitin game.... just ordered.... costs around 53,500 wid 2yrs dell care included

hi....just my two bits being a dell corporate buyer.

complete cover is great if your someone who travels a lot with the laptop...so there is a higher chance of coffee/cold drink spills, dropping it, banging it, electric surge, etc in a smaller town, etc
for all of the above dell replaces your lappie...no questions asked.
however it does NOT include theft unlike insurace. so thats something to remember.

on laptops in general.
cpu speed bumps are not advisable bec the diff in Rs. vis a vis Mhz is not friendly.
it does make sense to go for a dedicated graphics options vs. onboard and to upgrade the resolution of you screen.

hope this helps......
