Dell's gotten official with a a pair of new monitors today, including the previously-seen 24-inch 2407WFP-HC LCD and the slightly more budget-minded 19-inch SE198WFP. The 24-incher, as we knew before, boasts Dell's trademark TrueColor technology for 92 percent color gamut coverage of the NTSC color space (in other words, it'll look real nice). Otherwise the specs are about what you'd expect, including the de facto 1920 x 1200 resolution, 6ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and both VGA and DVI ports (with HDCP support). While you won't see any of those TrueColor benefits with the 19-inch model, you'll still get some decent enough specs, including a 1440 x 900 resolution, 5 ms response time, and 1,000:1 contrast ratio. It's biggest advantage, however, is its price, which runs just $189, as opposed to the $679 the 2407WFP-HC's set to demand with it rolls out next month

Does this mean that other 19"ers from Dell are going to be cheaper ? How does the LCD market dynamics work ?
these are US based prices and be adviced dont be fooled by them....and as per general rule in the hardware business...prices go down drastically in those items which are high selling..namely few factors affect the price movement downwards..viz.public demand increases sales figures...mobilising high production of the item - result - no idle stock with manufacturer, return on capital investment and high competition leads to ideal prices on these items - whereas the less sold items enjoy the high prices due to lack of the above points - they are for the richer customers to absorb...:ashamed: - forgive me for sharing too much gyan
