Laptops Dell xps m1330 warranty extention.

the warranty on me dell xps m1330 is about to expire in a few days.

theyve offered me an upgrade as follows:

"On extended warranty with complete cover we can offer you @ Rs. 9000 for 1 year and Rs. 15500/- for 2 years".

this includes parts n labour and nbd service.

it doesnt include 24x7 support that the notebook came with. instead it includes 8x5 support.

is it worth it? i need a fast reply because the warranty will expire soon.

Ignore the support part. Especially considering you are on a technology forum, how many times in the past have you contacted support? ;) 8X5 is fine.

The whole point of this is the extended warranty,completecover as insurance in case something bad happens, etc etc, (touchwood :))

Fow worth, some think it is and some dont :P Depends on your use. If you are a very careful guy and rarely take it out, then you might not think its worth it. On the other hand, if you are like me with butterfingers and keep dropping things, this might be a good bet :P
 
I would say its well worth it. You should have gone for it while purchasing the lappy.

After extension at least you don't have to sweat it out if something happens to the device.

Peace of mind over anything else.. any day!
 
the reason i didnt go for it earlier was because the laptop would turn out to be too expensive and i always knew id upgrade it later. i know it eventually boils down to the same amount but psychologically, 90k seemed too much and out of my budget too. anyhow, yes i dont think i need the 24x7 support. honestly, i only call dell when i need hardware support for a replacement. i dont need their support otherwise. i had considered the 24x7 support when india didnt have a dedicated xps support center and calls where diverted to malaysia. it was impossible to get through to them before 10pm. now it seems that we have an xps center for the day in india. so im ok with that although the malaysian call center is much better imho.

even though im careful, the charges arent much cheaper without complete cover. so ill obviously take it. thats why i didnt post the prices without cc.
