I have been using Windows 7 since a long time, earlier in XP, I used to use an application which enabled the list-view on the desktop. The app does not seem to work in Windows 7, I find the normal view to clutter a lot. Are you guys aware of any similar applications for Windows 7?

Wow, been using Windows 7 for over a year and never thought of this.. will keep a watch on this thread and try to find out myself also! Thanks man!:)

^^ First enable list view on any of the folders, then Go to Folder options->View->Apply to all folders.

I use D-Color XP. But since it has XP in the name itself, no idea if it will work on Win7.

Doesn't Win7 already show them in a list view style but with 32x32 icons? If so, just downsizing desktop icons to 16x16 from the control panel would do the trick.

The option is grayed out for me :ashamed:

It will only be available if you access Folder Options from a regular folder.
Opening it via the Control Panel will have the option greyed out since you can't apply Control Panel view settings globally.
