Digit magazine offer.

Yup saw the promo banner at digit forum. But digit sucks these days so I am really not sure whether it's really worth. Had it not been for FT, digit magazine has nothing but ADs :P

Yea true I subscribed digit from 2004 to 2008 end but from 2009 its big time ad mag thats nothing good just so many full page ads. better switch to other better mag
 
^you get the same magazine (minus the dvd's) or even at times with the dvd's for less than half price after 1 month at your nearest book reseller....besides its full of ads all the time :@ so not a good offer at the end of the day.

Well, I'm a subscriber of Digit for the past 4 years and IMO, it's worth for it's softwares and the fast track. I also subscribe to IC-CHIP, it's better than Digit. But the thing is, they won't give any special offers like Digit :(
 
Digit used to be very good at old times. Later they started cost cutting measures and their chose cheapest courier so the delivery of magazines was never on time and some times I got two months magazine together. Nowa days Digit magazine as well as their forum is all full of ads. Infact a large no. of TE members are ex or dormant members of Digit forum.
BTW any substitute for old Digit. PC quest now mainly deals in programming related stuff. Ic- chip any other?

yes you are right many members of TE are ex-digitians and for the magazine Personally i purchase it but not like it anymore because of adds and some pages are full of bakwaas stories, even they remove most of their old sections like crossword, show your desktop and something which contains funny pic. And from so much of time there are no reviews on some PC peripherals like webcam but one thing they regularly give reviews about graphics card and MB's and Processors. But another:ohyeah: one thing positive from digit is that there Fast Track is very much popular and also they are focusing on it very much even much more than magazine and the last thing these days it comes VERY MUCH COSTLY.

There forums are also becomes useless because in bazaar section new thread takes very much time to update and sometimes there is no thread even after creating it 2-3 times. And there duplicacy of posts is very much, also sometimes before there is so much of spamming there i.e. peoples or spammers are selling shoes, viagra and many more thing there in the bazaar section. And the last and final word STAFF THERE WHICH SHOULD HELP CUSTOMERS AND USERS ARE VERY MUCH UNRESPOSIVE.

Dude its not Rayban sunglasses its Reebok sunglasses...the one you get free with virtually anything these days....credit cards, mobile connections etc...they are really bad pair of glasses ...not even worth 400RS forget 4000Rs......the deal is a total scam..:bleh::bleh:
 
If you have to get a pc magazine then chip is better (at least it was last I checked about a year back). I don't think the freebies are going to be as cool as you expect.

IMHO delivery of the magazine has improved by quite a bit. I have received Digit about 2 days before the start of every month for the past four months, i.e., on 28th of October, I received the November issue and so on. Ads are many, yes, but the magazine content is good. I am talking especially with reference to the Open Source special issue. As all have said, the fast track is great. Meanwhile, the softwares provided are also taking a step forward. If fortune favours us, then we may get Mandriva 2010 Live bootable DVD with the December issue. The good thing is that we can demand any freeware/shareware we desire on their forum and they put it in the DVD. :)

EDIT: The Logitech mouse offer looks good, but I'm skeptical about the sunglasses. :|

I too was a subscriber of digit couple of years back but when they increased the price, i pulled my hands.

This rebook sunglasses offer is everywhere, i had seen a subscription offer of India Today (IIRC) and that too was giving these 4999 rebook sunglasses.

IMO don't trust those glasses.
 
rather put the amount for net conenction and enjoy unlimted content + real time tech updates...

time to put magazine to put to rest...

I agree about the we can download part. But it is a real boon for people in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities which lack a reliable and fast internet connection. I am still skeptical about the sunglasses. :)
