Digital Camera for <10k

Well, need to gift my dad a Digicam in a day or 2. budget is 10k. Which all cams fall in the budget ? The digicam should have a decent video recorder as well.

As far as image quality goes Canon should be your best bet...

Below 10k is Canon Powershot A590IS

On the higher range you have the Canon IXUS series

Canon 590IS or 720 IS .

not really sleek ..but the image quality is really good and in my opinion,more natural compared to Sony.(have compared a T700 with a 720IS )

And if looks are not a priority..
Canon A590IS for around 8.5 to 9 k.
Awesome camera in that price range. I own it.
It does decent video recording too.

You could consider Panasonic Lumix series too....
