i want to buy one digital camera for my dept.(official work), main requirement is good clearity specially while taking close up photos (for taking snaps of various engine components).
budget is around 9k.
please give recommendations.

You can better go for SONY cybershot...
But, it cost you around 10K and it has good efficiency so good clarity tooo...
more the budget more the clarity...

Believe me frnd go for Sony Dsc t-100 its really a awesome camera ur goin to luv it ..... ooho and one thin more dont go for showrooms to buy this camera go to some black markets u will get it for 9-11 ks originaly it cost arround 19ks so best of luck if u find it ... and if dont believe me check out the reviews in cnet and other sites

Actually the question was fairly pointed..he needed a budget cam with good macro capabilities...

try to get hold of something with optical Image stabilization...would be a good-to-ghave for sharp macro shots

The Canon A570IS should be available within your budget...
