HDD is not detecting in bios..
I have unplugged the cable & reinsert it but same problem..
What should i do

Dude take out the HDD and try to use it on another system, if it works then the mbr must have gotten corrupted or if it does not work there too then it may as well be kaput.

was it under warranty, model and specs ?

yes my HDD was under warranty
& what is kaput

sometimes it boots into windows & sometimes not...

HDD:Seagate ST3250820SV sata

Hmm follow these steps and see if it helps:-
1. Select First Booting Device in BIOS as CD.
2. Boot from the XP CD, and select Repair option(press R for repair).
3. At the Recovery Console Prompt type bootcfg /scan , this will scan your computer for bootable drives and will provide you with the result.
4. Then type in bootcfg /rebuild to rebuild the boot loader configuration.

This should fix the booting problem.

If the above process doesn't help then type fixboot c: in Recovery Console Prompt where c: is the drive on which your OS is installed.

1)Check your data cable connection.

2)Detach and reconnect cable most of the time it works. If it not worked, Then repair your windows os by bootable XP CD.

3)After repairing scan your system with good anti virus software.
