Walt Disney is to buy George Lucas's world-renowned Lucasfilm, including his legendary Star Wars franchise, for $US4 billion, and has announced plans for more films in the legendary sci-fi series.
Star Wars 7 is set for release in 2015, "with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future," a Disney statement said.
The deal "combines a world-class portfolio of content including Star Wars, one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney's unique and unparalleled creativity," Disney chief Robert Iger said.

IGN also has a few articlles up on the deal and the sequels.
A new trilogy, could be freaking awesome or a complete disaster.
2015 - Avengers 2, Justice League and Episode 7. :O
I for one would prefer a monkey island trilogy detailing the life of Murray.
