We had some old tower servers which couldn't be moved to a blade. There was no way we could find to mount them using racking "ears". Only option was to install a shelf to sit the server boxes.
Ah, but these are A. Desktop builds running linux, and B. One Dell T20. I am looking to rack them to save some space. Another coffin in the nail for buying new rack server(s) is that the entry level rack server is about 60K+taxes - compared to 42K for a similar speccd tower server.[DOUBLEPOST=1452081850][/DOUBLEPOST]Motherboard zeroed in is H97 chipset based to ensure RAID1. Will be getting either the Gigabyte H97 D3H or ASUS H97 M E for the same. Will also be looking at 3.5" HDD swap cases.
