door to door shipment from China to India

I am interested in this dumpling skin maker machine (

) and I had enquired about the item from the seller to which his/her response is as under:

"Thanks for your email.

The factory price of this small dumpling wrapper skin making machine is USD330. The door to door shipping cost to India is USD309. So total cost is USD639.

This is the door to door price, includes the customs clearance, dispatch fee and local tax. And as you you know, the customs clearance in India is a little complicated and also the tax is very heavy, so the door to door shipping method is more convenient and economic.

Any questions, please feel free ask me."

Now I have never in my life ordered anything from China, and I would like FM's advice on whether such door to door shipping even exists from China? Should I trust the seller? What to do and what not to do etc.
I really need this machine for commercial use. Help.

That's an ancient way of saying that it'll be shipped with courier like Fedex, DHL, Aramex etc. That's all. The courier company takes care of the custom etc too.

So provided the seller is genuine, Is it advisable to go ahead with this purchase? Is there any other issue that I may face or anything else that I need to know?

Do you have a GST number? If yes, have you obtained a IEC code from DGFT?
