Monitors Driving a 40" LCD.

How feasible is it to run a 40" LCD TV off a decent gaming rig? How does it work? Does it matter that its 40" or all the computer cares is about the resolution its being played at?

I have a 40" VU. IF I could use that for gaming etc, then I could save the cash to be spent on the monitor on proc/vga etc. And plys 40" gaming... :eek:hyeah:
 
AFAIK it's about the resolution, not the size of the screen. The computer needs only that much power to output, say, 1920x1080. The rest is up to the screen itself as to whether it displays that over 24" or over 40".

You will need to sit quite far back (I would say at least 6') to be able to feasibly game on the 40", so factor that in.
