hey guys i am going to buy a nikon d3100.i have some questions regarding it.

1>from where can i learn about dslrs?

2>i will use it for taking different kinds of photos like macro,potraits etc and hd videos.will this camera fullfill my requirements?

3>i have heard that dslr requires special kind of lenses to capture photos.will nikon provide me with those lenses.if yes then will it serve my requirements?as i dont want to invest money in lenses?please help
 
Well, find my answers below:

1. Best start would be Camera Manual. Manual will provide you full information about camera functionality. Secondly if you want to learn about photography, there are many forums and sites e.g. http://dpreview.com , www.jjmehta.com/forum/index.php etc. Google and you will find many.

2. Yes, the camera will suffice your mentioned needs.

3. Every DSLR needs lenses to capture photographs. You camera will come with kit lens most probably 18-55mm lens. This lens is suitable for general purpose photography. If you want to shoot macros and portraits, you will need other lenses. And trust me, once you buy a DSLR, you will invest in lenses too

Btw if you don't want to buy lenses then why don't you go for long zoom cameras?
