I currently have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my HDD (250GB Hitachi) and wanted to know the proper procedure to install Windows XP in dual Boot.

Here's what I want to do:
I have 3 HDD's. The first one is 250GB Hitach (3 partitions C, D and F), second is 320GB WD HDD (3 partitions H, I and J) and last if my 1TB WD (2 partitions K and L).

Windows 7 is currently installed in the C drive of my Hitachi HDD and I want to install Windows XP on a separate partition on my 1TB WD HDD. I tried creating a 30GB partition on my 1TB HDD and tried to install XP on it, but in the setup menu it doesn't show that partition at all. It just show the entire 1TB HDD.

What do I do? :S

OS can only b installed in primary partitions. And u can hav max 4partitions. So we consider it to be max 3 parimary partition and 1 extended partition. Make sure the partition of 30GB that u created on 1TB HDD is a primary partition. And I wud recommend to keep ur OSes in same HDD. Otherwise u need to set the HDD booting order which will increase time for booting.

And as u said its showing the entire 1TB HDD why don't u create a partition from there...??

Well, that's because I have lots of data on my 1TB partition and I don't want to loose that.

Yup my assumption was correct. Those all r dynamic partition. U can't install a OS in dynamic partition. Make it primary partition or logical partition(extended partition) and try again.
