Forum Feedback Due diligence on dealers

I have also noticed the sudden influx of newbies with Patron tags allowed to post sale threads. I don't know when and why this was decided, but that's only going to encourage more people to bypass normal contributions and just sell and dump. I thought we wanted to be a tech community first and a marketplace second. This change does not seem to indicate that.

I agree with this. Guess it's just a way to monetize the forum to take care of expenses.
But there is literally no way to contribute and grow on this forum. Wasn't allowed to post anywhere. Had to post multiple times in Introduction Lounge before it got approved. Was forced to get a patron tag to bypass restrictions.

That's just objectively not true. Compared to you, I joined the forum later and have been able to contribute and have made lots of friends. I always find many threads where I can learn or share stuff that I've learned. Have bought and sold stuff as you can see from my profile. And I am not even that prolific a user. There are others who are always posting and contributing.

Yes, everyone has to go through mod-approval. What is wrong with that?
But keep in mind that that is not an invitation to spam the forum. Post only when you have something meaningful to contribute.

I have noticed there has been influx of new folks in dealer segment, i would suggest members to do due diligence, proper check, verification etc before dealing with them.
Pls check on FB groups about reputation of the sellers / dealers too before proceeding.
Which FB groups precisely do you check the reputation of these sellers/dealer ?

My friend. I have tried to post/answer only to get rejected which is quite demotivating. Maybe my definition of meaningful does not match with the approver but atleast I'd like to get a feedback on that. I don't mind going through mod approval and not trying to spam either.

My date of joining has nothing to do with it. I come to this sub mainly to buy stuff. If I need to go through some rite of passage I am willing to do that as well. But it's simple not possible in the current state without paying for it. Like I said a simple introduction lounge post was rejected, only when I tried to turn it into a rant it got approved but the thread locked.

I have nothing against the mods. But the rules have been tightened and it's quite harder for a new account to progress.
That being said I am here now and am contributing. :)
