LCD panels continue to get better everyday and DuPont is investing more into the versatile technology

LCDs have long had issues throughout its development history: viewing angles, response times, black level and backlighting. DuPont, one of the largest manufacturers of behind the scenes technology has announced a new development in light reflector technology for LCD panels. LCD panels rely on special flourescent tubes positioned at the rear of the panel to light up the screen. Special reflectors are also used to even out the light and reflect most of it towards the front of the panel. Unfortunately, not all reflectors are made equal, and at times, LCD panels exhibit lighting that is ununiform, appearing as hot or bright areas.

Called Optilon Advanced Composite reflect (ACR), DuPont's new reflector technology can reflect light with 98 percent efficiency, even with different colors of light. DuPont also says the new Optilon reflectors cost less to process and cost less to implement into LCD panels.

The DuPont Optilon Advanced Composite Reflector offers increased LCD display luminance, more neutral color and improved LED BLU performance over other industry alternatives.
