Durable and long lasting wired earphones with mic

Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy wired earphones with mic for use with my Nokia G60 5G that I purchased recently.

The primary use will be for having voice chats on Discord servers, or Skype calls, and sometimes phone calls.

Should be long lasting and durable, as I don't like to change soon

Would prefer them to be 1K, or under.

Thank you

Buy SONY MDR-XB55AP. I bought mine in 2019... Mic stopped working in 2021... but Sound from both sides works great and is much better than other alternatives at same price.
Price is 2K.

Also.. I had to smash the mic part with a hammer to open it and fix it :angelic: and still.. SOUND WAS COMING. Build Quality is just great as well as sound quality.

Using Realme Buds 2 Neo for more than a year. Really good for just Rs 499

Thank you

Is the length adjustable, I mean the part from where they split for two earbuds... is it adjustable? If not, I hope it has enough space for my face haha

How are the Boat or JBL earphones in the same price range. I saw on Amazon

My brother also recommended Sony, but they are just too costly at 2K. Of course, the quality is great, but Sony products always seem overpriced

You can get a refurb unit for 1.5k.

Length is not adjustable from where they split for two earbuds but it has very long space.
Split to earphone length is nearly 14 inches

Sounds good. Thanks

Samsung EHS64 (<Rs. 500)
Using since 2015, across alot of travel, 200+ flights. Very rugged use. Only 1 time changed in 7 years.
Excellent mic quality and earphone quality.

Wow, that's quite durable. But, the earbuds look straight... nowadays the angled ones have better fit. I am currently using the old Sony ones of my brother, and they are angled, and fit really well into the ear
Anyone has any experience with JBL or Boat earphones? They are around the same price range, and good ratings too.

Don't know what the current meta is, but back in the day the SoundMagic E10C had a reputation for being relatively tough, on top of sounding great, both of which I can attest to; I'd still have mine if I hadn't got it caught in a door and ripped one of the buds clean off :p. It's still available on Headphone Zone for ₹1600 - above your budget, but I'm not personally aware of anything under 1k that's very durable.

Not recently, and I never used either for long enough to gauge longevity, but I will say this: JBLs at that price and the couple of Boats that I've tried are usually bass-boosted messes. This wouldn't be a problem for non-enthusiast casual use, but you've specifically mentioned voice calls, and I've found that those kinds of V-shaped headphones are terrible for voice focused stuff - you have to pump the volume to stupid levels to get comfortable audibility on vocal ranges, and then a notification goes off and you're suddenly deaf. Then again, I'm the only one I know that's had this kind of issue, so maybe it's just a "me" thing. Hopefully someone with long-term experience with them can chime in.

I have been using JBL T290 for more than 3 years now, no issues at all. I had Sennheiser CX275S before that for almost 3 years, got bored with it so got the new one. Sennheiser one is still going strong, no issues :D

Wow, so many different opinions and choices haha

I am not keen on going for Realme earphones, because I want to avoid Chinese products. So, I am considering other options.

Which is better, JBL or Boat?

Also, since the earphone jack in my phone is below, will it be better to go for 90 deg angle jack? Realme has it though... I didn't see it for JBL or Boat models that I looked at till now.

JBL/ Boat doesn't have exact 90 degree cable, but slightly tilted ones are present. JBL is part of Harman International, which is part of Samsung I believe.
And Boat ones are just Chinese products, I remember you mentioned you are not looking for Chinese products. ;) If you go to product page on Boat, you will see the country of origin.

You can buy entry level iems for kz, like edx pro they are built quite good, great sound quality, and you can replace the cable in future if it goes bad.

Country of origin doesn't necessarily mean the country of design - usually it just means the country it was manufactured in and/or had the largest value addition. Basically every item that's been mentioned in this thread is likely to have been manufactured in China. Most people aren't trying to avoid Chinese manufacturing (which is effectively impossible), they're trying to avoid buying from Chinese companies, which as far as I'm aware Boat is not.

But yeah, given the frequency of release and the price points they hit, there's a good chance most Boat products are rebranded white label stuff (Chinese or not, I couldn't say).

No clue about Boat but JBL is really good.
I am using JBL endurance run , really good for the price. Clean and balanced sound with good cable and mic quality.
Water resistance rating actually worked as I once dropped it in a water bowl.
you the try 2nd gen https://www.amazon.in/JBL-Endurance-Earphones-Sweatproof-Technology/dp/B0B96HCWZC/

I found one JBL earphone with 90 degree jack, but its price is on the lower side, so I don't know if the quality will be that good. JBL is an American company from what I read, and yea, it is related to Samsung.

From what I searched and read, Boat is an Indian company

Oh yea, I saw IEM earphones mentioned in a thread, and with low cost and great sound and build quality, I must say, they got my interest. Can you please give a few links from Amazon to good models? I found some in the price range of just less than 1200. If they last long and have good build and sound quality, I can spend a bit extra.

You are correct. Many products I found have country of origin as China, which doesn't mean the company is Chinese. Even JBL, which is an American company, has country of Origin as China on its product page.

Yea, I checked out a few sites, and they too say that JBL has an edge over Boat in terms of sound quality, but also say that both make good products. JBL definitely has the edge. Boat products are more affordable, with decent quality.

The earphones you suggest look quite good. Thank you.

KZ EDZ! It comes with detachable cables and pretty good mic. If the cable dies, get a new one for 300 or 400k. You can try some fb groups, you'll find lot of KZ models in your budget range.

Did you mean KZ EDX or EDC? Because, there is no EDZ. And I think you meant 300 or 400 INR, and not 400k LOL. I must say, I am quite interested in these earphones, most on the basis of what I read in other TechEnclave thread about IEM. I might go for these. Suggest a few models from Amazon please.

This one has great reviews and will fit your budget, I have kz edx ultra, details and bass is just great and overall very loud, that one goes for around 1300 on this site, i ordered from here only because its cheaper than amazon and headphonezone.

Given your requirement, I would not touch them with a 10 foot pole. They make everything from smartwatch to speakers. And their manufacturing is in China in which case you are better off looking at Chinese earphone brands. Now only they are looking to shift to India -
Get a well reviewed earphone from a genuine specialist brand which meets your requirements. Do not cheap out if you are looking for something durable and long lasting as your title suggests.
