These tests throw many surprises, and prove the fact that more expensive it not necessary better..

It says Sigma 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM is has the best optical characteristics of all the lenses made for canon APS-C.

Also canon 50mm f/1.8 puts all all canon L lenses to shame.:ohyeah:

wow, Pentax wins here hands down. Eat your heart out canon, 60D comes at #21:@.

BTW I have a canon 1000d with kit lens and 50 f/1.8 ..

The overall score is a joke if you ask me. It scored as much as the D3s and everyone knows it's the best of the best of the best unless you need extremely large prints on a regular basis.
 
No use getting hyper over this. Its a theoretical website and the scores should be taken with a pinch of salt.

For instance how does the lens perform wide open ? What is the distortion characteristics etc etc.

Other sites have a different opinion on what is better.
