those having side by side refrigerators. please tell if the portion I have marked with red turns too hot to touch. because my samsung fridge is burning like hell.

also it has consumed 15 units in 10 days , is it normal?

both compartment are running in fridge mode, temp is set to 2 c.

The temp here in patna is hovering between 39-42 C , dusty days if this helps.

Yes it does. I did call a service technician and he did mention it's normal. Also there might be a whistling noise if you listen closely. All normal. I have a Samsung RS72A50K1B4.

Would have thought you would feel it on the sides but guess that's where the heater element is located for this side by side model. It won't be for long though. Half an hour?

My fridge says the sides may get hot but I've never noticed it.

It's averaging 1.5 units a day. Seems OK.

What are you using to measure?

Hot day so the fridge has to work harder

Can you post a photo of how you have installed your fridge? Found some you posted here.

Looks free standing

Can you check your manual where it mentions minimum gap to keep for sides back and top. Are you conforming to those requirements? YES

Any heat sources located next to your side by side? NO

I think you're good as far as fridge placement goes. No reason for the fridge to work more and raise the electricity cost
