After the recent GO for NIS, I looked up to check if upgrade to NIS 2015 was possible. This is what I found.

According to the article,
Symantec says that, as a result of the new releases, Norton Antivirus, Norton Internet Security and Norton 360 have started their "end of life". They’ll continue to be maintained as normal for the remainder of all current subscriptions.

So in future we will have Norton Security and Norton Security with backup.

What current Norton users don’t get, unfortunately, is any guaranteed upgrade path. This official forum post states that "NIS/N360/NAV activation keys are not able to be used in your Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup products" and advises customers to "continue using their NIS/NAV/N360 products until the end of their subscriptions", then subscribe to one of the new products.

Few excerpts

Symantec has decided to treat Norton Security as a new product line and NAV/NIS/N360 have begun their end of availability so v. 21.x (2014) will be the last version released for the NAV/NIS/N360 line of products.

Existing NAV/NIS/N360 customers will be able to continue to receive product and protection updates for the "foreseeable future", but Symantec has not explicitly stated how long they will allow NAV/NIS/N360 users to continue renewing their subscriptions for these products before they must make the switch to the new Norton Security

- Your NIS/N360/NAV activations keys are not able to be used in your Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup products
- We encourage customers to continue using their NIS/NAV/N360 products until the end of their subscriptions (and disable AutoRenewal), at which time they can purchase a license and subscription to Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup
- For those who wish to get NS and NSBU now, and are concerned about losing subscription time for your existing NIS/N360/NAV products, we recommend that you contact our Customer Support team via Chat to find the best option available
