PC Peripherals Europlug and 6/7 way Extension board

Hi all,
I have an oldish system (as seen from my sig.) . All of my PC peripherals are Europlug (http://www.indiaquickfacts.com/cont...converters-electric-sockets-electric-adapters and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europlug)

Note :- This was news to me that the socket/plug I thought to be Indian turned out to be European.

I looked at historical threads and only two threads I was able to find with one thread discussing mine :-

http://www.techenclave.com/community/threads/ups-power-extention-board.90605/

There are differences between that thread and mine. I have no UPS atm so having a 6/7/8 way extension board with surge protection would be good/nice.

Idea being Plug point > Extension Board > Computer.

Now what has been preplexing me quite a bit is why American three point sockets are available. I don't know/understand it why we had American sockets since most (if not all) have Europlug.

Hence my query is straightforward, does anybody know of any extension board model which has Europlug connections only.(min. 6 way).

I did find the following at shopping rediff but all have American socket .

http://shopping.rediff.com/product/...socket-extension-board/11426292?sc_cid=search

http://shopping.rediff.com/product/...board-model-nopk713-06/11411781?sc_cid=search

http://shopping.rediff.com/product/...switch/11415051?sc_cid=search_extension board

and many others. Am clueless to know which are good brands and have Europlug connections (if any).

Looking foward to know more.

All these extension boards support the Indian/ euro/ American plugs you linked to. The rediff prices are too much. Go to a shop and you will find similar items for around 500.

Yes, quite an unfortunate trend. I was just lamenting the other day that these plugs are not stable in our sockets at all. The only way around this is to get sockets with 'child-safety shutters' since the shutters can clamp the plug tightly.
Also, beware of getting random surge/spike protectors like the ones you linked to on Rediff. Most are just plain extension boards with absolutely no filtering included. So far the only brands I know of that actually have some sort of protection are MX and Belkin.
