Does anyone have EVGA 7900GTX that they bought within the last 90 days..

:D

ha ha, as I've mentioned before I am stepping up (using the step-up process offered by EVGA ONLY)

Thanks to EVGA I am stepping up to a GeForce 8800GTX for 30 bucks ! ! ! !

That's just 10$ difference from what I paid for my 7900GTX plus 20$ for shipping

Oh well, it's on backorder due to high demand but I am 26th on queue.

I will be shipping back my own 7900GTX and after a maximum of 3 days EVGA will ship the brand new 8800GTX one back.

This is nothing new. EVGA has this program running since last few years.

Its great if you are about to buy card when new card on horizon.

There is a queue system though and it sometimes take a while to get stepped up.

Yup, some people waited like 4-6 weeks upgrading to 7900gtx when it launched :P But you're practically paying little or nothing to upgrade, so who can complain :D

well the 7900 GTX couldnt have costed much when he bought them....

n he gets the 8800GTX for that price...isnt it generousity frm EVGA?

i think people who own the 7900gtx have to pay $404 to steup and get in queue as alot of people have already opted for this, where did you see it for only $30 ?

That was posted by a very senior member in 3dbuzz.
Its a step up program by EVGA to protect investments by customers who bought their top end cards under some timeframe...you dont have to pay any extra money..

u actually have to pay the price difference between the 8800gts/gtx and the invoice price that u paid for ur old card minus any rebates

This program has been around since 6 series cards launched, and it's not eVGA's generosity behind this program... they're building customer loyalty here, and it works.

that means that within 90 days he bought his 7900gtx for wut $600???

of course therz some catch here else everybody would be doing it n would be posted everywhere

The catch is eVGA building customer loyalty - there is no other catch, only a few reasonable conditions :) That's one reason I'm contemplating delaying my G80 upgrade until Dec/Jan so I can upgrade through eVGA's step-up program when G80 refresh is out ;)

The program looks good but thats all it is: firstly , if the guy bought a 7900gtx for >$550 (which he must have for the $30 difference) in the past 90 days, he got ripped in the first place, secondly, the price for the upgrade is (evga price-ur newegg price), so while the 7950gt retailed for $289 on the egg and I had purchased my 7900GT KO for $269(also from the egg), the evga price was $379 for the 7950 ,so I had to pay $110 + shipping to get the upgrade!!!Thanks but no thanks, and not to mention the 90 day limit. It would be better if they synced their prices with those on or close to that of the egg or if they still wanna charge those high 'step-up' prices, extend the period to 180 days.

Better idea: hope and pray the card you bought goes outta stock on the egg, RMA it and they issue u a full refund since they can't replace it and buy a new card.Too bad the 7900GT SKU I have(584) is still in stock and so I can't get the X1950XT that I now want.

they will ask u to quote a price for ur card... and then they will review it.. so there is no way u can cheat themm...
cmon..buildin loyality... ok....but he cant loose a few hundred bucks per customer..
