EXATT down for weeks

I am living in delhi and have exatt256unl broadband connection .For the past three days i am not able to acces any sites except indian sites . when i call exatt they said that due to quake in taiwan the net would be down for weeks .do any one from exatt facing similar problem.I think if thats true than the company should have kept a backup plan.oter isp like airtel ,spectra have backup in case these things happen .exatt should refund our money back
 
It is impossible to be totally 'cut-off'. One may have slow connection but never zero connection for national/international sites !!
 
Hi...Im using the EXATT connection as well...only for 1 day the internet connectivity was totally down here...from the next day as u mentioned all indian sites were working fine and i only had problems with messenger services. Browsing is working but its SLOW...if gives a Page Cannot Be Displayed Msg at times , but then constant refreshing does the work. Also I noticed that if i start some download and then try to open webpages - it opens faster. I let a "ping" -t command run in the background to keep a check on the connectivity. My download speed on da 1st day was 0.1 kb/sec....yes u read it right...normally exatt 256 gives a tunneling speed of 23-30 kbps....now from yesterday is shuffles between 10-15 kbps. Decent enuf....as "IOSOFT" correctly mentioned...its not a ZERO connection..or else wont even be posting this :) ...but i agree its dammm slow and sluggish...EXATT gets its connection from VSNL ( i guess ) - so we need to await the backbone to be fixed asap. I however agree that other ISP's have been backups. My cousins AIRTEL is running like NOTHING has happened. Also automata ..asking for a refund or money back is not possible and ill-logical and also unpractical...its a problem which has occured - due to a natural calamity and they arent responsible for it...would it be right on their path to ASK money from us in order to restore the services back to normal....?!...in the same way ....lets be patient...im sure they are working on the problem...they surely dont wanna loose customers. however i totally agree wih the fact that it affects browsing /working on the comp.
 
my operator is saying that exatt is thinking to close their office in delhi or mightly completely shut down.he has provided me spectrnaet acct 64kbps for surfing because on exatt i cannot check even my mail on yahoo.com as it is only opening co.in sites or any indian site
 
me on the exatt 512k plan...the browsing seems to have become better today...but its still slow n sometimes pages wont open and i keep gettin signed out of the various messengers...
 
I thinks its not only prob with Exatt but with all the isps in Asia, i m even hvng prob with my hoasting site since all the traffic is being routed through diff gateway to over come the chaos.Things r better today but still far from best as i m struggling to put down this reply.
