I have bouts of extended gaming on long weekends, not more than 4 or 5 hours at a stretch. My current rig has survived since 2008/2009. I would like this rig to also offer a similar lifetime. Will look only for 1080o rez gaming not more. Rarely play FPS except for games like tomb raider or Arkham asylum, maybe far cry 4 yet to try.

Thank you all for your inputs

Intel i5 4690 16k
Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H 8.5k
4GB x 2 is sufficient but for future proofing you can get 8GB X 2 6 TO 12K depending on the selection
For PSU if get really old then you can change it to Corsair RM 650 or 750 depending on what you plan to add in the future.

Regards
JJ

thank you guys , H97 seems less in variety than Z97. Any preferred motherboard brands, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock? Asus H97 pro gamer, MSI H97 gaming 3, gigabyte G1 sniper was what I was looking at.

Any thoughts on the my existing PSU. I dont think I need to change it , below are the specs:

I decided to go with a i5 4440 and msi h97 g43 mobo along with corsair 4gb*2 ddr3 1600 to pair with the r9 270x.

Okay, about the psu, eddy could you elaborate about the suspect parts?

What Wattage would you guys recommend?

R9 270x & Rest of the configuration will run fine on 550 watts PSU but If you want to keep headroom for future upgrades or change of graphics card then going for a 650 watts will be good.

Thanks JJ, I purchased the coolermaster seidon 120v plus for cooling the cpu. I do have a corsair H50 currently, (early version). Since i was unsure whether it would fit onto the LGA 1150, I purchased the coolermaster. Hope it's a decent choice.[DOUBLEPOST=1421833942][/DOUBLEPOST]Btw I have a HAF 932 case and not 922, although dated, it has tons of space

Thanks Eddy, but Im nowhere near that adventurous or skilled :). At most I would upgrade the gfx card at some point down the line, I purchased a samsung 850 evo and simply amazed at the speeds

PSU wise I was wondering whether a bronze rated 650w is ok? Also thinking of going for a corsair obsidian 350d mid tower, the HAF 932 is HAF but the lack of dust filters is making everything really dusty :yuck:. I love the look of the NZXT cases as well

You get this as GPU's are getting more power efficient these days.
Seasonic S12II 620w -6000.

  • CPU - Intel Core i5 4460 -12000,
  • Motherboard – MSI Z97 PC MATE -8000,
  • PSU – Seasonic S12II 620w -6000,
  • RAM – Corsair Vengeance 8GB(4GBx2) 1600Mhz -6000,
  • SSD - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB -9500.
  • TOTAL -41,500.

Thanks Sunil, I got all that you mentioned above except for the motherboard, i got an MSI H97 G43 for 6.8k and the 850 evo for 8k thanks to a flipkart voucher. PSU of course, still deciding
