A friend started up and maintained an information website as a hobbiest, read non-monitory as only few adsense ads are floating over his website. In a time span of 9-10 months only he got traffic of more than 50K unique visitors with an average of 2-3 page views per visitor which I would certainly rate it as a good traffic. :hap2:
Now he wants to expand operations with least overheads, read one-man show. Suggestions provided..
a) Start a forum/yahoo-type-mailing list to increase user activity - Does creating and managing a yahoo group isn’t like sending traffic to yahoo ? I had suggested him to host a yahoo-type mailing list script at his servers to keep the traffic within his domain only. Other alternative will be if he can host some forum script to keep the things more organized. But as he wants it to be with least overhead, isn’t it will be a bad option considering he might need to reply all the queries till he doesn’t get a knowledgeable/participating members??
b) More Google Adsense and ebay ads to monetize traffic - Another suggestion was to increase ads on website to get more funding. Do eBay ads work??
c) Start his own business and recommend himself -
