Storage Solutions External HDD for TV

Hello Friends,

I requires 500GB/1TB External HDD for TV to watch Movies, Songs, Plays etc.

On other thread user complaint that his TV Support only up-to 500GB, he got some replies but didn't reply same if partition (500GB + 500GB) solved his problem i.e. 1TB HDD Detected by his TV or not?

I also worried about External Power Supply with HDD as TV has only 1 USB Port?
Does 500GB power-up itself with same DATA CABLE which we use to attach it with TV?

Also suggest which BEST Tough HDD should I choose under 4k, while suggesting please take note that HDD shouldn't heat too much as the place where I plan to keep HDD is not much specious for Air Circulation.

Also suggest how many hours we can keep it working without STOP

1) Am having a Samsung 40D6600 3D led TV its 2011 model & it can detect a 2tB HDD also so main ques comes that your TV is an older model or newer 1, also you can borrow any friends HDD to check .

2) Yes Portable ones takes power from USB port

3) Tougher 1 TB External HDD are not available under 4k But 500 GB = 4.2k

5) Every HDD heats up in 1 or 2 hrs continuous use so can give it a break if it gets heat up in interval portions of movie :)
