The current search engine is not giving the best results, at least i my experience. Also, can't search for 3-letter words like ITX, DIY, AM5 etc. I still find myself using the site search tool in Google. So, would it be better if Google's programmable search engine is used? Kindly consider any alternative.

Also, it'd be nice if the search results are optionally shown before making a post, from title or post content. This won't be helpful for 'purchasing advice' posts, but could help avoid duplicates in other sub-forums.

I would like to add to this, I would like the functionality of having Search in the Messages/Conversation sections so I can search for who requested what rather than having to open each of the messages and go through them.

Can we have a mandatory pin code of where the product is shipping out of + an ability to search for listings within X kms of a pin code? May help with local F2F deals

Yes, that's the workaround not just for this forum but any as all of them in my experience disable searches for 3 letter strings.
