This is a long due post which I kept on putting off.
I would like to share my experience dealing with Ankit Infotech- PCStudio on purchasing my personal PC setup with my first salary. Not because I needed it, but to fulfil my promise to my younger self.
Like everyone else, I was highly sceptical of purchasing online, especially since I had never researched the Indian PC market and so, I turned to Reddit, Youtube, forums and reviews to form an opinion. After my exhaustive research, I ended up shortlisting few merchants- MDComputers, Vedant computers, PCStudio, Modxcomputers, PrimeABGB.
I was looking for genuine reviews and buyer interaction while filtering through that seemed biased or motivated.
Currently residing in West Bengal, I had the option to go with Vedant or MDComputers(stores located in Kolkata) but I ultimately chose PC Studio. Something about them seemed genuine, with posts dating back nearly a decade that praised their service.
Then came the question of claiming warranty and RMA in case my luck ran out. I have had miserable experiences with mobile phones, laptops, AC's and other appliances so it was a major concern. I knew that the merchants were not responsible for any manufacturing defect or unforseen mishap but to me what was significant is how willing was the seller to streamline my process in pursuing my grievance.
Took a leap of faith and contacted PC Studio to move things forward. They were polite and answered my queries over call and Whatsapp. After finalising the product specifications I placed my order. They were in contact throughout the process whenever I was inquisitive. They shipped the entire setup in two different packages, the GPU and the rest installed in the cabinet. Received the package after a week just as they had mentioned though there were goof ups by the courier company-DTDC, as usual.
DTDC- Sent messages that the product was "out for delivery" but didn't deliver the item. The next day, I followed up and visitied their warehouse to personally retrieve my package. On cross checking with their systems it displayed that my package is once again "out for delivery". On explaining the situation. they called up the person who was supposed to deliver the item. Turns out he hoarded my package without updating the system since it was "late". Nonetheless it was delivered.
It's been 10 months since I have the system and looking back I am glad I chose PC Studio. I am now their loyal customer and will wholeheartedly recommend anyone who wants to purchase any product through them.
